Remote Sensing for GIS Instructors
Short Description:
The National Science Foundation has recently funded a three-year professional development opportunity in remote sensing for GIS instructors, a new phase of the recent "iGETT" project (Integrated Geospatial Education and Technology Training; ATE DUE #0703185). In this new iGETT project, "iGETT-Remote Sensing," 36 GIS instructors from two-year colleges, high schools, and four year colleges in two cohorts, will each participate for 18 months to learn how to analyze and integrate land remote sensing data with GIS to address local community problems. The National Council for Geographic Education, the U.S. Geological Survey, the GeoTech Center, West Valley College, and NASA are partnering to offer this program.
