2013 Research Experience for Undergraduates Program in Solar and Space Physics
Short Description:
The University of Colorado invites undergraduates to apply for a summer Research Experience for highly motivated students interested in solar and space physics. Students will work with scientists at the University of Colorado’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) or at the National Center for Atmospheric Research’s (NCAR) High Altitude Observatory (HAO), NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), North West Research Associates (NWRA), or Atmospheric & Space Technology Research Associates (ASTRA) on projects spanning the field of solar and space physics, from instrument hardware to data analysis to modeling of the Sun-Earth system.
Who should apply: Current Sophomore and Junior Undergraduate Students. Foreign students may apply but admission will be dependent upon funding.
When: June 9, 2013 through August 3, 2013 (8 weeks) [with some flexibility on a case-by-case basis]
Financial support: $500/week – In addition, participants will be provided with dorm housing and a food allowance. A travel stipend of $500 will be provided.
