Airborne Research Experiences for Educators Project
NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center in California hosts one of the most exciting professional development opportunities available to teachers. Undergraduate students and teachers partner to conduct research observations on the DC-8 aircraft and subsequently develop related curriculum. The teachers assist and mentor the undergraduate students. The teams participate in a six-week residential science research program and create curriculum-based activities resulting from their observations and experiences during the six weeks. This is a complete end-to-end residential research experience in airborne remote-sensing and atmospheric science.
