Learning from the Frontier: Getting Planetary Data in the Hands of Educators
March 14, 2004

On March 14, 2004, more than 60 formal and informal educators, curriculum and product developers, planetary data providers, and space science researchers met at the Lunar and Planetary Institute to discuss issues in electronic access to planetary data for educational use, including curricula, tools, and interfaces that enable their effective use in educational settings. The workshop was designed to initiate conversations within the community about user needs, common issues, and challenges in utilizing planetary image data. Discussion among the participants helps to realize NASA's goal to make its space science content engaging and available to educators, students, and the general public. The workshop was co-hosted by SCORE and the Solar System Exploration Forum.
