Earth Science on Mars

Who: Middle school science teachers
What: A 2 day professional development training focusing on Mars science and exploration, with an extra day for visiting NASA
Where: Lunar and Planetary Institute, Houston, TX
The workshop will:
- Provide hands-on, standards-aligned classroom activities to bridge content from Mars to the Earth science
- Address a variety of Nature of Science and science process skills
- Incorporate formative assessment tools
- Provide the opportunity to interact with Mars scientists
Workshop registration is free, and includes lunches.
Texas participants will receive Texas Professional Development credits and out-of-state
participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Classroom resources will be provided.
$300 stipends available for select participants for travel
