Walter Kiefer is a Staff Scientist at the Lunar and Planetary Institute and has a Ph.D. in Planetary Science and Geophysics from the California Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Lunar and Planetary Institute, he worked at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
Dr. Kiefer's research uses computer models and observations by NASA spacecraft
to understand the internal structure of Venus, Mars, and the Moon.
