The materials in this catalog are for grades K-12, free or low cost (almost no items over $50.00) and focus strongly on NASA and NASA-related outreach programs and materials.

The catalog was compiled by Carole Albyn and Stephen Tellier at the Center for Information and Research Services of the Lunar and Planetary Institute, Houston, Texas. LPI is a nonprofit institute for research on the formation, evolution, and nature of the solar system. As part of its program of education and public service activities, the Center for Information and Research Services answers hundreds of inquiries and requests for information and materials each year. This listing represents a compilation of some of the most useful products and resources. LPI is operated by the Universities Space Research Association under contract NASW 4574 with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

The first edition of the catalog appeared in Earth in Space (SSN 1040-3124), September 1995 issue, published by the American Geophysical Union. Earth in Space, a magazine "for teachers and students of science," is published monthly from September to May.

How to use the list

The catalog is divided into two parts. The first part is a list of sources with contact information arranged in alphabetical order. The second part is a listing of specific items of interest grouped in broad categories by type of material. Each item on this second list includes a short description. This is followed by a source code that refers to the source list for contact information.

Caveats

Be aware that this listing is not comprehensive or exhaustive. The items listed are representative of what is available. New material is being developed regularly. The information is as up-to-date and accurate as possible; however, any of it is subject to change. Contact resources of interest for the latest information on availability and costs before placing an order.
