LPI scientists Teemu Ohman and Patrick McGovern are co-authors of a new paper, “Circumferential graben and the structural evolution of Alba Mons, Mars,” published in the journal Icarus.
The archived presentations from the Habitability of Icy Worlds workshop are now available on the meeting webpage.
A list of highlighted events at this year’s Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) can be found online.
The LPI library has added some new United States Geological Survey (USGS) maps to the collection. Among the new additions are the following:
- Geologic Map of the Prescott National Forest and the Headwaters of the Verde, Yavapai and Coconino Counties, Arizona (USGS SIM 2996)
- Geologic Map of the Long Valley Quadrangle, Coconino County, Arizona (USGS GQ-1735)
- Shaded Relief Map of the Lunae Palus Quadrangle of Mars (USGS I-925)
These and other new maps are on display in the library.
LPI Senior Staff Scientist Allan Treiman is a co-author of a new paper, “Alteration of Hawaiian basalts under sulfur-rich conditions: Applications to understanding surface-atmosphere interactions on Mars and Venus,” published in American Mineralogist.
The USRA Houston building will be closed on Monday, February 17, in observance of Presidents’ Day. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, February 18.
