Dr. Thomas Greathouse has worked at Southwest Research Institute in the Space Science Division since leaving LPI in the summer of 2007.  Within the last year he was promoted from his initial post-doctorate position to Research Scientist.  Since joining with SwRI, Thomas has written a paper on the occultation observations of Jupiter’s upper atmosphere taken during the New Horizons flyby.  He is currently involved in the LRO/LAMP mission primarily as instrument operations support. He is producing seasonal climate models for the outer planets and adding a solar forcing/infrared cooling subroutine into the global circulation model EPIC. He is involved in ground based observations of the stratospheres of Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune in an attempt to measure the effects of seasonal forcing on these planets.  Future work will include operations support and data analysis of the Ultra-Violet Spectrograph on the up coming mission JUNO.
