I am currently interested in understanding how seasonal variations of insolation affect the temperature and chemistry in the stratospheres of the Giant Planets. Utilizing high spectral resolution mid-infrared observations taken with TEXES, the Texas Echelon cross-dispersed Echelle Spectrograph, mounted on the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility in Hawaii, I derive stratospheric temperatures, wind speeds, and abundances of molecules such as C2H2 and C2H6. I then compare this information to current seasonal and photochemical models.
