MissionApollo 15
Lithologysoil
LocationBroken from the 1 m boulder at Station 2.
DescriptionSoil 15200 and fragments 15201 through 15206 were broken from the 1 m boulder at Station 2. The boulder appears to be an ejecta fragment from a relatively recent impact of another site. The boulder may have impacted at a low angle and rolled uphill onto the rim of its own secondary crater. Sample area is generally flat and free of fragments. Carrier notes that this is an unrepresenative collection of rock chips and loose soils found at the bootm of a sample bag.
