| Description | 70001-70009 are the segments of the deep core drilled at the ALSEP site 180 meters west of the LM. The sample area is flat, level and has 2-3% block cover. Craters 10 cm to 1 meter in size are common, fines are coherent below 3-4 cm. Drill penetration to 3.2 meters alternated between easy and difficult. The bottom 20 cm were very difficult to drill. The base material is cohesive, fragmental. |
