Dear Venus Community,

I would like to draw your attention to the Request for Information released yesterday regarding a potential new Extreme Environments Challenge. This Centennial Challenge would focus on finding innovative solutions to the problems surrounding the survival and operations of scientific probes in extreme environments, such as on the surface of Venus.

This is a very important prize for the Venus community. The Centennial Challenges seek to:

• Drive progress in aerospace technology of value to NASA’s missions
• Encourage the participation of independent teams, individual inventors, student groups and private companies of all sizes in aerospace research and development
• Find the most innovative solutions to technical challenges through competition and cooperation
