AGU 2016 SESSION P014: IN THE NAME OF JOVE – GIANT PLANET INTERIORS, ATMOSPHERES, AURORAE, AND IONOSPHERES

agu2016

Session ID#: 13726
Session Description:
We solicit new research findings about the magnetospheres, ionospheres, aurorae, neutral atmospheres and deep interiors of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.  A special focus of our session is the results returned during “Grand Finale” phase of Cassini mission to Saturn, which will start in late 2016.  Scientific results returned by the Juno Mission, which will orbit Jupiter starting in July 2016, should be submitted to the Juno special sessions.  Other sources of data to be covered in our session include the continuing observation by the Cassini spacecraft, and other recent space- and ground-based observation.  We solicit long-term monitoring using ground- and space-based telescopes studies for all giant planets.  We also encourage reports of recent activities at Uranus and Neptune.  In addition, we solicit modeling and theoretical presentations that address these observational findings.
