DPS/EPSC WOMEN IN PLANETARY SCIENCE DISCUSSION HOUR 2016

DPS Women in Planetary Science Discussion Hour 2016 – Pasadena, CA

Welcome!

This event is an informal meeting for all interested parties. This means you do not have to be a woman to support women in science or be interested in learning some professional development tips – for yourself, or to share with others :).

The overarching topic for this year is “Being an Ally” in a broad sense. We will leave plenty of time for discussion, but also fold in some tips and planetary science demographic statistics.

Date: Tuesday, October, 18th
Time: 12:00-1:30 pm (lunchtime!)
Place: Room C106 – Pasadena Convention Center

Program:
12:00 – Lunch Pickup and Informal Networking
12:15 – Start of Formal Program
~12:25 – Topic 1: Planetary Science Demographics
~12:55 – Topic 2: Ally-ship Discussion and Resources
The deadline to sign up for a provided lunch is September 15th, and we can provide lunches for the first ~125 people. You will received a confirmation e-mail from [email protected] at some point before the meeting to confirm. Please let me know if you find you are unable to attend, as I will give your lunch to someone on the wait-list. We will give away unclaimed lunches at 12:30, unless you specifically tell me you will be late :).

After we have passed the deadline or reached lunch/room capacity (125), please still register below to get on the wait-list for a lunch in case of cancellations, and so we can try to find extra chairs :). (we can send you the notes/summary afterwards)

These lunches are provided due to the generosity of the DPS committee (thank you!!).
