The Apollo 16 landing site in exaggerated, “false” color rendition (see caption of slide #8 for color scheme). The preponderance of red shows this highlands site to be dominated by mature, glass-rich soils; the notable exceptions are the very fresh (i.e., very blue) North and South Ray Craters near the landing site (center right).
