Volcanos on Io
20. Volcanos on Io

Voyager 1 revealed many fresh volcanic landforms on Io, the active moon of Jupiter. In addition to the famous explosive eruption plumes that first attracted the attention of the planetary geology community, Io also has several active lava lakes. The largest of these lakes is at Loki Patera, seen at the lower right of this image. Loki Patera is over 200 kilometers in diameter.
