These images show a fresh venusian crater and some examples of similar-sized craters that have been modified by geologic processes (craters are listed clockwise from left). Adivar (8.9°N, 76.2°E, 29 kilometers diameter) is one of the youngest impact features on the planet. Note the radar-bright floor, the radar-dark margin surrounding the ejecta blanket, and the west-facing parabolic feature around the crater. An unknown geologic process has removed the parabola and dark margin around Zhu Shuzhen (26.5°S, 356.5°E, 29 kilometers diameter), the rim and ejecta blanket appear to have been faulted by postcrater tectonic processes, and the floor appears to have been covered by postimpact volcanism. Bashkirtseff (14.7°N, 194.1°E, 37 kilometers diameter) has clearly been embayed by volcanism to the northeast. Balch (29.9°N, 282.9°E, 39 kilometers diameter) is being rifted apart.
