Hello everyone -- Here's the latest from Mark, below.
The next deadline to worry about is August 15.
I'm attaching the current version of our chapter.
Here're the primary things we need right now:
1. A matrix in Section 3. The matrix would compare
how various small-body characterizations fit in
to the various NASA objectives.
2. Text in some of the subsections of Section 5.
3. Sprinkling in some references to the decadal survey.
4. Adding the reference list at the end.
5. "1 page executive summary" (though I can probably
whip this up after the rest is done).
If someone could take charge of 1 or more of
these items, that'd be great. Let me know soon what
you're willing to contribute.
Thanks

> As a practical matter, considering we have 9 chapters, they should
> be limited in length to a maximum of 20 pages (including figures),
> plus a 1 page executive summary that includes a bulletized list of
> goals, current status and priority needs. Supplementary documents
> may be provided, but each chapter should be self-contained.

> Now that the decadal survey has been released, it should be
> referenced where relevant.

> Once posted, feedback will be solicited from the SBAG listserv, to
> be directed to the chapter leads. At SBAG 5 (August 25-26), I am
> setting aside three hours for each chapter to be formally approved
> after very short presentations based on the executive summary (the
> Steering Committee will be expected to have reviewed each chapter

>
> The plan going forward is for there to be standing committees of
> SBAG, responsible for the maintenance of each Roadmap chapter area,
> which will make this more of a 'living' document. At future SBAG
> meetings, there would be a short report from each committee lead,
> identifying events which have occurred or may occur that would be
> expected to motivate a modification of the Roadmap and to propose
> such modifications when needed. These committees may also be tasked
> to address specific issues and report on them at the next SBAG
> meeting.

> Thanks much for your efforts!
