LPI Post-doctoral Researcher is Awarded Grant

Dr. Qi Fu, Post-doctoral Researcher, has been awarded a three-year grant from NASA’s Exobiology Program for a proposal titled “Experimental Investigations on Reaction Pathways and Isotope Signatures of Abiotic Organic Synthesis in Hydrothermal Systems.”

NASA’s Exobiology and Evolutionary Biology Program supports research into the origin and early evolution of life, the potential of life to adapt to different environments, and implications for life elsewhere.

LPI Scientists to Attend Prestigious Workshop

Dr. J. Gross and K. L. Robinson were selected to participate in the 2010 NASA Planetary Volcanology Field Workshop: Analogs to Martian Volcanic Features in Satellite and Rover Images. This field workshop is sponsored by NASA’s Planetary Geology and Geophysics Program (PG&G), and will be based on Kilauea Volcano, Hawai‘i from July 10–16, 2010.

LPI Paper Published in Science

Dr. A. Treiman co-authored a paper,* published in Science magazine, that gives evidence that Venus’ volcanos have erupted in the recent geological past.
