Classes Taught

Most of Dr. Kring’s classroom teaching was conducted at the University of Arizona (1989-2006).  Since coming to the LPI, he has continued teaching through a series of training programs that he developed for NASA.  In that capacity, Dr. Kring has trained nearly 90 M.S., Ph.D., and postdoctoral students in Houston in science and exploration topics associated with human exploration; nearly 100 M.S., Ph.D., and postdoctoral students at Meteor Crater and in the Flagstaff volcanic field; and another 40 participants at the Sudbury impact structure in Canada.  He has also trained four groups of NASA astronauts and one group each of CSA and JAXA astronauts. He has led other field-based training excursions to geologic sites in Arizona, New Mexico, west Texas, Colorado, the Nevada Test Site, Yellowstone, the Pinacate volcanic field of northern Sonora, Newfoundland, and the Ries Crater in Germany.
