Laboratory-based research into the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of geological materials under conditions relevant to the mantle and crust of Earth and other terrestrial planets. Transport of fluid components in mantle and crustal rocks on the microscopic and macroscopic scales, and the effects of such components on deformation, diffusion, and chemical kinetics.
