Erik Urbach is a post doc at the Lunar and Planetary Institute. He has obtained his PhD in computer science from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands and is an expert in mathematical morphology and computer vision. He works on machine identification of Martian impact craters from topography and imaginary data.

Soumya Ghosh is a graduate student at the Computer Science Department, University of Colorado in Boulder working on his PhD. He works with Tomasz on automatic generation of Martian geomorphic maps by means of a segmentation-based classification. More...

Wei Ding is a graduate student at the Computer Science Department, University of Houston working on her PhD. She works with Tomasz on developing spatial data mining methods for automatic finding of co-location patterns and hot spots in Martian and terrestrial datasets. More...

Recent contributors

William Pittman is a senior majoring in computer science at the University of Washington. He has been working with Tomasz on developing a global database of Martian valley networks. This database lists a number of attributes for each valley network and it's going to be used for distinguishing real valley networks from other topographically similar landforms.

Brian Bue is currently working at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the Machine Learning Systems Group.  He has been working with Tomasz on an implementation of the SOM method to classification of Martian landforms and on automatic identification of impact craters. More...

Michael Mendenhall is a graduate student in the Department of Physics at Caltech. He has been working with Tomasz Stepinski on identification and characterization of Martian impact craters using topographic data. He is a creator of  Cratermatic software.

Ian Molloy is a graduate student at the Computer Science Department, Purdue University working on his PhD. Ian has worked with Tomasz on automatic mapping of Martian valley networks using topography data. His has developed a code for identification of valley networks based on topographic curvature.   More...
