The Great Desert

SANDIA CREST

On Wednesday evening, we took the tram up to the crest of the Sandia Mountains, and had dinner there at the High Finance restaurant.

Pinnacles and cliffs in the preCambrian granites. Credit.
 
The Great Unconformity again, but with even more missing. The preCambrian granites are about 1.8 billion years old. The layered rocks on top are Pennsylvanian age similar to the Kaibab limestone of the Grand Canyon, and full of fossils. Credit.
