Apollo Next Generation Sample Analysis Program (ANGSA)

The Apollo Next Generation Sample Analysis (ANGSA) initiative was designed to examine these pristine samples. Nine teams with over 50 scientists and engineers will participate in this initiative.

Artemis III Science Definition Team

The Science Definition Team was assembled by the Planetary Science Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate to provide compelling and executable science objectives for the Artemis III mission, the first human mission to the surface of the Moon in the 21st century.

Astrophysics Investments for Planetary Science

NASA's Astrophysics Missions are available for the use of the entire science community to advance important science objectives independent of which NASA Division manages the programs.

Ice Giants Mission Planning

This group provides a forum to present the current state of knowledge of the ice giant atmospheres, satellites, rings, magnetospheres, and interiors, identifying science priorities, and providing traceability to future missions.

Meteorite Working Group (MWG)

The curation and collection of Antarctic meteorites is a U.S.-funded, cooperative effort among NASA, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Smithsonian Institution, and the primary purpose of the MWG is to encourage and expedite the scientific utilization of Antarctic meteorite samples.

NASA's Planetary Science Advisory Committee (PAC)

The Planetary Science Advisory Committee (PAC) reports to the Science Committee (SC) of the NASA Advisory Committee (NAC). Regular meetings are held for the purpose of soliciting from the scientific community and other persons scientific and technical information relevant to program planning. Presentations from the Committee meetings will be posted on this unofficial site.

NASA's Planetary Science Division Facilities

NASA's Planetary Science Division (PSD) is evolving how it deals with funded facilities. As part of this activity, NASA is working to identify current facilities, how they are working, and the extent to which they serve the science needs of the broader planetary community.

NASA Planetary Science Subcommittee Notes (PSS)

The Planetary Science Subcommittee of the NASA Advisory Council (NAC) reports to the Science Committee of the NAC. Regular meetings are held for the purpose of soliciting from the scientific community and other persons scientific and technical information relevant to program planning. Presentations from the Subcommittee meetings will be posted on this unofficial site.

NASA Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS)

Information about important changes in the NASA Planetary Science Division's (PSD) Radioisotope Program.

Planetary Science Nuggets

Planetary Science Nuggets are powerpoint slides that have been provided to NASA SMD Planetary Science Division by members of the scientific community to highlight important science results or mission activities.

Planetary Science Vision 2050

The purpose of Planetary Science Vision 2050 is to identify potential science goals and enabling technologies that can be implemented by the end of the 2040s and would support the next phase of Solar System exploration.

Solar System Exploration Roadmap

This is the 2006 Solar System Exploration Roadmap for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.

White Papers

High-Priority Science Questions About Mercury

The curation and collection of Antarctic meteorites is a U.S.-funded, cooperative effort among NASA, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Smithsonian Institution, and the primary purpose of the MWG is to encourage and expedite the scientific utilization of Antarctic meteorite samples.

Community White Paper on Landed Mercury Science

Representatives of the Mercury community contributed to a White Paper on the case for landed Mercury science.

Value of NASA Participating Scientist Programs to NASA PSD

The paper, authored by representatives of the NASA Analysis and Assessment groups, is based on data collected from surveys of the planetary science community and mission leadership.
