Galaxies and the Universe

In Texas, teachers are expected to teach about the characteristics of galaxies and their scale, as well as other characteristics of the Universe.

Preliminary Concepts
Students need to understand the differences between solar systems and galaxies before they can begin to understand the characteristics of galaxies and of the Universe.

Students need to be able to convert measurements from one scale to another before they can grasp the sizes, distances, and characteristics of galaxies and the Universe.
