LPI Presents Sky Fest: Observing the Night Sky

The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) partners with the NASA Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society to engage families in Sky Fest, a celebration of celestial events or NASA mission milestones. Sky Fest is open to all ages, and includes presentations from scientists, hands-on activities, and night sky viewing through telescopes (weather permitting).
LPI presents “Sky Fest: Observing the Night Sky” on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 7:00–9:00 p.m. Explorers of all ages are welcome.
Activities include:
- Presentations on how NASA JSC is testing the next big space telescope
- Exploring telescope basics
- Building a simple telescope to take home
- Night sky viewing through telescopes (weather permitting)
