LPI Library Featured in Amigos Member Spotlight

May 17, 2018

The Lunar and Planetary Institute’s (LPI) library was featured in the Amigos Library Services Member Spotlight. David Bigwood, Assistant Manager for Library Services, was interviewed and provided a guided tour of the facility.

LPI organizes and maintains a collection of space-science-related materials in a variety of media—including books, journals, documents, maps, and
images – to facilitate lunar and planetary science research and disseminate science information to the public.

The library features unique collections like the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package (ALSEP) Documentation which doesn’t exist in any other collection and is digitized and available at https://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/collections/.

The library serves as one of 16 international NASA Regional Planetary Image Facilities since the inception of the program in 1977. Facility tours can be arranged in advance during regular business hours.
