New LPI Initiative Promotes Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility
June 7, 2021
Today the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) launched a new initiative promoting Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) at the LPI and within the planetary science community. A new web page shares actions, updates, and news dedicated to the LPI’s IDEA efforts.
“I am proud to be the new Director of the LPI and to have the opportunity to build on our outstanding history of support for NASA’s planetary science community,” says Dr. Lisa Gaddis, Director of the LPI. “Our goal is to foster an environment that strives for equity and inclusion of all individuals, and to help all members of the planetary science community to feel safe and supported.”
The new web page focuses on six key areas the LPI is currently addressing to promote IDEA, including modifying the USRA meeting portal. The web page also contains several planetary IDEA resources to guide us and support the planetary science community.
The community is invited to visit the web page for periodic updates on our ongoing efforts at Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) at the LPI.
