LPI Presents Sky Fest: Telescopes of Latin America

The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) presents “Telescopes of Latin America” on Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. at the LPI. Explorers of all ages are welcome. The event is being held in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15).

The LPI partners with the NASA Johnson Space Center Astronomy Society to engage families in Sky Fest, a celebration of celestial events and NASA mission milestones. Sky Fest is open to all ages and includes presentations from scientists, hands-on activities, and night sky viewing through telescopes (weather permitting).

Activities will include:

  • Portable Planetarium Shows
  • Build Your Own Telescope (to take home!)
  • Scientist presentations
  • Night sky viewing through telescopes (weather permitting)

The LPI is located at the Universities Space Research Association, 3600 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, TX 77058. A map of the region and the building location is available for download.
