LPI Presents New Virtual Family-Friendly Program on May 14

The Lunar and Planetary Institute's (LPI) public engagement program provides the opportunity to connect with planetary scientists from home! Virtual Exploration Experiences with Planetary Scientists (VEEPS) are family-friendly, online sessions that include a science presentation, a demonstration or activity, and time for the audience to ask questions and engage with scientists.

To celebrate the upcoming launch of the Artemis I mission, the LPI is excited to present a special program about rocket science! Join us on Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. CDT for this free, virtual presentation designed for families and children. You’ll hear from NASA rocket scientists, learn about new missions to space, and build your own rocket!

We’ll be joined by some very special guests: Patricia Moore, Tiera Fletcher, and Myron Fletcher. Patricia is a Communication and Outreach Specialist from NASA Headquarters; she’ll tell us all about the Artemis program and share the latest developments about its first mission. The Fletchers are aerospace engineers at The Boeing Company; they’ve spent years working with NASA to build the new Space Launch System (SLS), the most powerful rocket ever created!
