In-Person and Online Event: Apollo 16 and 17 Retrospective

Join the LPI for a hybrid presentation (in-person and online) by Dr. Walter Kiefer, Associate Director of the Lunar and Planetary Institute. During this event, Dr. Kiefer will look back on the scientific success of the Apollo 16 and 17 missions. He’ll discuss how astronauts conducted geology on the Moon’s surface, why those missions’ landing sites were selected, and what we’ve learned from the lunar samples collected by astronauts.

This event will be held in-person and online on Thursday, November 3. The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT (8:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. MT/ 5:30 p.m. PT). In-person attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

In-person at the Lunar and Planetary Institute (3600 Bay Area Blvd, Houston, TX 77058).

For those who are unable to attend in-person, the event will be streamed live through the LPI YouTube channel beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT.
