Research
on the behavior of H2O in planetary regoliths and atmospheres.
Recent work has included research on gaseous diffusion in cold planetary
regoliths; thermal modeling of planetary surfaces; studies of the diurnal,
seasonal, and climatic cycles of water on Mars; the rheology and evolution
of the martian polar caps; the hydraulic response of groundwater to major
seismic events; low-temperature hydrothermal convection; and large-scale
groundwater transport.
