Description | Lunar Sample 15016 is a highly vesicular, olivine-normative, basalt with a major element composition similar to that of non-vesicular basalt 15555. It is a medium-grained basalt with subhedral phenocrysts of zoned pyroxene (1-2 mm) and olivine (~1 mm) set in a matrix of subophitic intergrowths of pyroxene and plagioclase. |
