DISCOVERY OF JENKINS IRON METEORITE, USA

Name: JENKINS.

The place of fall or discovery: 8 km northwest of Jenkins, Missouri, USA; φ = 36°49'28" N; λ = 93°45'40" W.

Date of fall or discovery: FOUND, about 1946; identified 1965.

Class and type: IRON, coarse octahedrite.

Number of individual specimens: 1.

Total weight: 55.4 kg.

Circumstances of the fall or discovery: Found lying on top of the ground by Earl Patton; to be deposited in the US National Museum (Washington, USA).
