DISCOVERY OF THE KYLE, TEXAS, STONY METEORITE Name: KYLE Place of find: Kyle, Hayes County, Texas. 29° 58.5'N, 97° 52'W. Date of find: Known earlier but identified in 1965. Class and type: Stone. Olivine-hypersthene chondrite (L6). Number of individual specimens: 1 Total weight: 7.78 kg Circumstances of find: The meteorite was found by children on a farm about three miles southeast of Kyle.
