Lucerne Valley Meteorites, new classifications

(Two meteorites)

San Bernardino County, California, USA

Found 1963 to 1999

Two meteorites listed in Meteoritical Bulletin 83 have now been classified by A. Rubin (UCLA).  Lucerne Valley 002:  class, LL4; shock stage, S2, weathering grade, W3; olivine, Fa27.5±0.6. Lucerne Valley 017:  class, L6; shock stage, S3; weathering grade, W4; Fa25.5±0.6. Neither meteorite can be paired with certainty to any other find from this region.
