DISCOVERY OF MANITOUWABING IRON METEORITE, CANADA Name: MANITOUWABING. The place of fall or discovery: South of Manitouwabing Lake, Ontario, Canada, φ = 45° 26'24" N, λ = 79° 52'32" W. Date of fall or discovery: FOUND, early in November, 1962; the meteorite fell not earlier than the summer of 1949. Class and type: IRON, octahedrite coarse. Number of individual specimens: 1. Total weight: Over 39 kg. Circumstances of the fall or discovery: The meteorite was found by Mr. Ph. Johnson and identified by Dr. K. R. Dawson of the Geological Survey of Canada.
