Physical Description: Roberta Score

This achondrite looks typical of the Allan Hills polymict eucrites. These include ALHA76005, A77302, A78040, A78132, A78156, A78165, A80102, A81006, A81007, A81008, A81010. Dimensions: 8.5 x 6 x 2.5 cm.

 

Petrographic Description: Brian Mason

This specimen is very similar to ALHA81006 in texture and in mineral compositions, and may be tentatively paired with that meteorite. Microprobe analyses show a comparable range in mineral compositions: pyroxene, Wo3-28, En31-52, Fs38-55; plagioclase, An74-93, mean An88. The meteorite is classified as a polymict eucrite.
