Ordinary chondrite (L5-6)

Two stones, ~23 and 13 g, were found together on the sand, -20 km south of the oasis Siwa. They were found by Dr. Romano Serra during a field trip organized and supported by the Centro Studi "Luigi Nero," Como, Italy, with the scientific collaboration of the Natural History Museum, Milano, Italy, and with permission of the Egyptian Geological Survey and Mining Authority, Cairo, Egypt. Ron Farrell, Bethany Sciences, New Haven, Connecticut, USA, recognized the stones as meteorites. Classification and analysis: olivine Fa24.3; pyroxene Fs20.5; Dr. B.
