Western Sahara

Ordinary chondrite (L6)

A 5.4 g stone devoid of fusion crust was found near the Tifariti army post by Mr. Valentino Luppi, a member of an Italian humanitarian mission in the Saharawi territories. Classification and analyses (R. Serra, OAM; L. Folco, MNA­SI): granoblastic texture; olivine, Fa24, pyroxene, Fs21Wo1.5; shock stage, S3; weathering grade, W5. Specimens: main mass OAM; thin section MNA-SI.
