FALL OF THE TILLABERI, NIGER, STONY METEORITE Name: TILLABERI Place of fall: Close to the village of Mari, 40 km NE of Tillaberi, Republic of Niger. 14° 15'N., 01° 32'E. Date of fall: April 1970, at the end of the month, in the morning. Class and type: Stone. Olivine-hypersthene chondrite (L6). Olivine Fa25. Number of individual specimens: 2 Total weight: 3 kg, approximately. Circumstances of fall: Three fireballs were seen, associated with detonations. Only two stones were recovered. Source: M.
