Y-791962, 53-1 The section shows a comminuted matrix of pyroxene and plagioclase clasts (up to 1.6 mm across); traces of dark materials (possibly nickel-iron, sulfide, and/or glassy clasts) are present, as scattered grains up to 0.6 mm. Pyroxene compositions are Ca3Fe21-Ca14Fe54. Plagioclase compositions are An73-95. The meteorite was previously classified as a polymict eucrite, but it has a more howardite-like bulk composition and pyroxene chemistry. | ||||||||||||||||
