Northwest Africa 2676 (NWA 2676) Morocco Found: 2004 Classification: Mesosiderite Petrography: Low-Ca pyroxene is pigeonitic; Fs27Wo 5.7 (n=5) ranges: Fs25.3-28.6Wo1.1-9.5. Plagioclase is anorthitic, mean: An94.0Or 0.28 (n=5) ranges: An93.3-94.5, Or0.24-0.33. The rock also contains silica with an open structure (high content of minor elements). Approximate proportions: 70% pyroxene, 25% plagioclase, 5% silica. Metal: silicate ratio is about 50:50 by volume Geochemistry: Co (mg/g) 4.67, Ni (mg/g) 83.9, Ga (µg/g) 12.4, Ge (µg/g) <100, As (µg/g) 9.71, Ir (µg/g) 4.34, Au (µg/g) 1.036 Submitter: J. T.
