Name: Österplana 035 Fieldname: Sex 001 Origin/pseudonym: Österplana, Sweden Purchased: Purchase or find date: 20-Mar-1996 Lat/long: 58°35'N, 13°26'E Mass: 80 x 60 x 15; 8 Pieces: Specimens: FMNH Description: The perhaps most beautiful and perfect fossil meteorite found by 2006. A large rounded meteorite, with perfecltly preserved chondrule structures almost throughout the entire exposed meteorite surface. Structure of an extraneous clast in original meteorite also preserved. Meteorite occurs in three plates of red limestone (195 x 290 x 31; 195 x 300 x 30 and 195 x 300 x 30 mm). One plate contains a not-so-nice cut through the margin of the meteorite. The two other plates contain the excellent cuts and texturally preserved surfaces through the meteorite. The upper and lower part of a nautiloid shell is exposed on each of these two plates. Prominent worm tracks around meteorite. Outer parts of meteorite have flaky appearance.
