Northwest Africa 4700 (NWA 4700) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2007 Classification: Iron meteorite (IAB-sLL) Petrography: Large schreibersite visible on top and bottom surfaces of 4 mm slice. No FeS observed. Kamacite contains abundant rhabdites. No silicates recognized. Bandwidth variable, 1.0 to 1.6 mm. Presumably purchased at same time as the very similar NWA 4703. Geochemistry: Co (mg/g) 5.00, Ni (mg/g) 80.0, Ga (µg/g) 75.4, Ge (µg/g) 349, As (µg/g) 17.0, Ir (µg/g) 2.75, Au (µg/g) 1.84. Submitter: J. T. Wasson, UCLA. | ||||||||||||||||||||
