Northwest Africa 4703 (NWA 4703) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2007 Classification: Iron meteorite (IAB-sLL) Petrography: Etched surface is curious: some bands mirror-like in their brightness, others dull. Differences depend on crystallographic orientation because dull crosses bright. Abundant Neumann lines. One 3x9 mm FeS inclusion. Silicates and schreibersite not identified. Geochemistry: Co (mg/g) 4.79, Ni (mg/g) 85.2, Ga (µg/g) 76.9, Ge (µg/g) 269, As (µg/g) 16.6, Ir (µg/g) 2.78, Au (µg/g) 1.82. Submitter: J. T. Wasson, UCLA. | ||||||||||||||||||||
