Aldama (b) Chihuahua, Mexico Found 1996, Summer Ordinary chondrite (H5) A 66.5 g stone was found by a rockhound while searching for minerals. Mineralogy and classification (J. Otto, Frei): olivine, Fa18.7; pyroxene, Fs16.5Wo1.6; plagioclase, An12.4Or5.6; shock stage S2; weathering grade W3. Specimens: main mass, SML; type specimen, Frei. The iron meteorite found in the same vicinity in 1985 will be named henceforth Aldama (a). | ||||||||||||||||
