Purchased: 2006

Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite, brecciated)

History: The meteorite was purchased in 2006 from a local meteorite dealer in Rissani, Morocco.

Physical characteristics: Greyish fragment partly covered with fusion crust.

Petrography: Breccia composed of basaltic clasts with mineral grains of 50-400 µm and up to 1 mm sized black melt clasts set into a clastic mineral matrix. Dominant minerals are exsolved pyroxenes and often laths-shaped calcic plagioclase. Minor phases are silica, chromite, FeS, ilmenite, and zircon. No metallic Fe has been found.

Geochemistry: low-Ca pyroxene: Fs_50.7±7.8Wo_6.3±1.6(Fs_30.7-57.3Wo_3.0-9.9, n=15, FeO/MnO=26-32); Ca-pyroxene: Fs_38.3±9.2Wo_31.3±7.8(Fs_26.6-52.5Wo_20.7-42.8, n=4, FeO/MnO=28-31); calcic plagioclase: An_85.5±1.8(An_83.1-88.1, n=11)
