Northwest Africa 5700 (NWA 5700)

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3-6)

Petrography: Chondritic breccia with LL3 to LL6 clasts in a fine-grained clastic matrix. Plagioclase grain size in LL5 clasts is ~30 μm and in LL6 clasts ~80 μm.

Geochemistry: Olivine in equilibrated lithologies, Fa27.9±0.2, n=12; low-Ca pyroxene in equilibrated lithologies Fe23.7±0.3Wo1.6±0.1, n=12. Olivine in type 3 lithology, Fa16.7±9.1 (Fa0.8-30.2, n=42); low-Ca pyroxene in type 3 lithology, Fs12.8±7.9Wo1±0.6 (Fs4.1-25.5Wo0.2-2.2), n=21.
