DISCOVERY OF THE BLEDSOE, TEXAS, STONY METEORITE Name: BLEDSOE Place of find: Bledsoe, Cochran County, Texas. 33°35.5'N, 103°1.6'W. Date of find: 1970 Class and type: Stone. Chondrite. Number of individual specimens: 1 Total weight: 30.5 kg Circumstances of find: The meteorite was struck by a "chisel" type plow at a depth of about 18" to 20" during deepbreaking operation in the sandy soil of west Texas.
